I’m pretty sure that for this to even matter to someone they first must believe in curses. Do you?
Curse Of The Hope Diamond
The curse goes like this—the Hope Diamond used to sit inside of an idle (a Hindu goddess) in long ago India. Someone stole it. From that point forward death and bad luck would plague not only the owner of the big blue diamond but anyone who came in contact with it. The diamond is no longer as big as when it reportedly was when it was originally stolen because it has been cut down at least a couple of times in the past 300 years. Oh that’s perfect… Spread that curse around. Excellent.
Well It’s Not The hope Diamond But…
There’s really no shortage of cursed jewels in the world. The La Peregrina Pearl was a wedding present in 1554 to the Queen of England. She died four years later. Who owns it now? Elizabeth Taylor had it for a while. Oh wait– she died. The Delhi Purple Safire (which is actually amethyst) was also stolen from India and plagued families that had it in their possession.
I’m sensing a pattern here. Possibly people should stop stealing jewelry from India, particularly from its gods and goddesses. Is it me?
